Sherman Kulstad, 81, Powers Lake, ND, died Sunday, April 15, 2012 in a Crosby, ND hospital. His funeral service will be Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, Powers Lake, ND. Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 18 from noon to 5 p.m. at Springan Funeral Home, Stanley and Thursday from noon to service time at the church.

Sherman Kulstad was born October 2, 1930 to John and Annie (Helde) Kulstad on the family farm near Powers Lake, ND. He married Donna Enget on January 14, 1956. As a young man, he worked for neighbors hauling hay and other odd jobs. He then worked on the Great Northern Railroad in Powers Lake. He later worked in the oilfields, did meat processing and worked for the Soo Line Railroad at Portal, ND. Sherman purchased the family farm where he lived all of his life.

Sherman is survived by his wife, Donna; sons: Kenneth (Darla), Powers Lake, ND and John (Trudy), Powers Lake, ND; daughters: Doreen (Tim) Overbo, Fargo, ND and Lorraine Bergstrom, Williston, ND; sixteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister, Gloria (John) Enander, Stanley, ND; special helper and friend, Helene Beard.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brothers, Raymond Leroy and Dennis Duane; infant sisters, Deloris Gloria and Doris Darlene; granddaughters, Kimberly Rae Bergstrom and Karina Kay Bergstrom.
