Lucille Moen

LUCILLE MOEN, 77, Columbus, died Thursday, May 3, 2012, in Minot, ND, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Powers Lake, ND. Burial will be at Bethel Lutheran Cemetery, Powers Lake.

Lucille was born January 1, 1935 in Powers Lake, ND, to Helen (Heller) and Arnold Jensen. She was raised and attended school in Powers Lake and graduated from Powers Lake High School. Lucille attended school in Bismarck, ND and became a certified CNA. She worked in the health care field as a CNA and later in life worked as a home health aide. Lucille married Vernon Moen in 1955. They had four children.

She loved playing cards, painting, drawing, home redecorating, quilting and socializing. Lucille had a special affection for the Girl Scouts where she served as a leader for many years.

Lucille spent the past 20 years living in Columbus with her longtime friend and companion, Lloyd Nygaard. Together they loved fishing, gardening and shopping. Lucille loved her church family.

She is survived by her daughters, Roxanne (Mike) Turpin, Citris Heights, CA, Barb (Troy) Schoenthaler, Greeley, CO; sons, Grant (Roxane) Moen, Greeley, CO and John (Belinda) Moen, Powers Lake, ND; brother, Elwood (Judy) Jensen, Brentwood, CA; sisters, Carol Piper, Loveland, CO, Linda Van Berkom, Powers Lake, ND and Susanne Jensen, Bismarck, ND; grandchildren: Erik Hegstad, Brandon Moen, Summer Turpin, Hannah Moen, Justin Hegstad, Paige Moen, Jacob Schoenthaler, Austin Moen and Ben Schoenthaler.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Arnold Jensen and brother, LeRoy Jensen.
